This Carmel service visit involved an LG LDE4413ST/00 electric range with severe heat damage at the rear power connection. What caused the connection to burn?
The service record identifies a loose connection at one hot-leg terminal. A loose high-current connection increases electrical resistance at the contact. Under load, that resistance generates heat, which can damage the terminal block, conductor and cord. The original photographs show severe damage concentrated at that connection.

The damaged connection was not suitable for reuse. The burned terminal block was removed and replaced.
