Problems we diagnose
The symptom tells us where to begin, but testing determines which component or installation condition is responsible.
Electric elements, thermal devices, gas ignition parts, controls and power supply require different tests.
Belts, idler pulleys, rollers, motors and door switches can stop drum movement.
Worn rollers, idlers, bearings or foreign objects create distinct sounds that help locate the source.
Restricted airflow, cycling controls, sensors or a grounded heating element can raise temperatures.
Door switches, thermal fuses, controls, motors and incoming power are checked in sequence.
Airflow, lint restrictions, heating output and moisture sensing all affect cycle time.
Clear repair process
Model-specific diagnosis
Note whether the dryer is gas or electric, whether the drum turns and whether the issue is no heat, long dry times, noise or stopping mid-cycle. Mention stacked equipment and any known exhaust restriction. Do not open the cabinet or bypass safety devices.
Diagnosis can include operating checks, stored error codes, electrical measurements, temperature or airflow readings and visual inspection. We explain the result and provide an estimate before proceeding with the repair.
Safety note: Stop the dryer if you smell burning, see scorching or notice excessive cabinet heat. A restricted vent can create a fire risk and must be corrected.
Prepare for diagnosis
Before booking, note whether the dryer is gas or electric and whether the problem is no heat, long drying time, unusual noise, overheating or failure to start. Also note whether the drum turns and whether the symptom changes during the cycle.
Long drying time can come from the appliance or the building vent. We evaluate the accessible dryer airflow path during diagnosis; full in-wall or roof vent cleaning may require a dedicated vent-cleaning provider.
Frequently asked questions
Restricted airflow is common, but weak heat, sensor problems, an overloaded drum or a long vent route can also extend drying time.
Yes. Gas ignition systems and electric heating circuits use different components and test procedures.
A worn roller, idler or blower can add resistance and place extra load on the belt and motor.
The accessible appliance airflow path is checked. Full building vent cleaning may require a dedicated vent-cleaning service depending on the installation.
